hello!
i just came back from bali yesterday
i went to east timor for my first mission trip!
i had fun there
ahahhaha....
our team consisted of 14 ppl
me, samuel tan, elisa, lemuel, chara, zachary, uncle johnathan, uncle andrew, my dad!
pastor annie, auntie dot, uncle jeremy and auntie meilin from zion full gospel
we had a very good time there
even though there were a few cars honking at each other at times
haha..
the first day!we reached bali at around 7pm singtime
then we checked into J Boutique hotel
we went to some chinese seafood restaurant
and the food was.. disgusting
the beef on a hot plate tasted more like rubber on a cold plate
so in the end i had fried rice while chara, lemuel and elisa had only prawns to satisfy their stomach..
ahahha. then we went back to our room
took turns to bathe then went to watch tv while waiting for elisa and chara to come over
hmm... then we watched tv til about 11.30 then the girls went back to their room
then we slept at 12 i think
the second day!we had to wake up early cuz we had a flight at 10am in the morning to Dili
but we woke up at 7
so we had a small breakfast buffet and had to drink this vitamin c thingy cuz auntie dot forced us to
haha.. then we went to the airport and flew to Dili
so we checked in at the Charla mansions i think
the rooms were quite spacious
samuel and lemuel had share the same room as the girls
looool. i went over to their room in the afternoon
and i found out that they had like super super many many food la
so i decided to move over there
ahhahahaha
so after unpacking everything we took a bus down to the statue of Jesus
it was kinda high up on a hill so we didnt go
we went to the beach instead
took some nice pictures and the adults were trying to make the rocks skid on the water's surface
and the only ones who could do it were samuel tan and my dad
haha.. auntie dot tried. but she failed
hahah.. then after that we went to some restaurant called 'Happy Restaurant'
haha. and realised that we were gonna eat in the same restaurant for 5 days straight
but the food was good! i forgot what we had that night
haha.. went back to the hotel
then stayed up til 11.30 then auntie dot came out and asked us to sleep
the third day!we woke up at 6am. then went to bathe and everything..
Happy Restaurant again for breakfast
then we took a bus up the mountain to the school of Laulara
we were welcomed by the students and the teachers there by a frigging loud applause
when we entered the school i was a lil paranoid.
ok ok.. i was very paranoid
cuz everyone there looked like they were gangsters
samuel and chara asked me to just shuddup and have fun
so i did! (try my very best)
we were introduced to the students then pastor annie made a short speech
after that we went to paint the basketball court.
well, actually only the poles and the board
then we cleaned up the class rooms for them and the students helped us as well
we got ready for the games for the students
all those games u play when u had ur first Sports day as a primary one student
haha.. but suprisingly they had a lot of fun
so i made a few friends. who didnt speak english. so im considered a pro xP
we left in the afternoon for lunch to Happy Restaurant!
again....
haha. had a good meal.
then we went back to the hotel to sort out all the stuff we were gonna bring to the school
had a short sermon at night. given by my dad.. had worship too
so we had a short briefing of what we were gunna do the nextday
then we slept at 12.30
the fourth day!like the previous day. woke up at 6. bathed then went for breakfast and took a bus to the school
this time we had telematches for them.
there was soccer, basketball, captain's ball and volleyball
they had fun
haha.. i think!!
but they were very patient and easily contented
cuz the soccer goalposts were like very easily broken.
but they didnt complain and just went and fixed it back up again
then we stayed there til about 2pm then went for lunch at you know where
went back to the hotel, bathed. then did nothing all the way til night then we went for dinner at you know where again. had a short briefing again
then slept at 10.30
the fifth day!as usual, woke up blah blah.
then we reached the school and we were dressed in different ethnic costumes
so we did some action songs with them and sang some songs
i tell you, they can sing!
haha.. then we did a short skit about the founding of singapore
had the cultural dance after that
they had a few short performances for us too
then we had to do the mime..
after that we gave away food and water to them
and made more friends.
and i tell u.. it is tough being famous there
its like when we want to go and rest then they'll ask us to come out and take photos with them
again and again and again
left around 2pm and went to the same place for lunch
did nothing the whole afternoon
had debriefing at night. so at that time all the disputes were all settled
we watched tv all the way til 3am then slept.
the sixth day!woke up later than usual. had breakfast in the hotel
then we went to the airport and took a plane down to bali
had lunch on the plane
then went shopping around bali
had dinner at A&W
then took a plane back to singapore... kk i gtg cya!
i made it known at 9:59 AM
